By the 1952 edition, the listing had evolved to the Sky Vu, capacity 232, Exec: Eston, Artz and Carl, Spring Glen. The 1949-50 Theatre Catalog lists “Drive In” in Gratz, capacity 550, Exec: Artz and Carl (UNC). (I’ve uploaded the ad to the Photos section here.) It doesn’t quite say so, but it appears to be a grand opening ad: “SKY VU Drive-In Theatre welcomes you to one of America’s most unique outside theatres.” The ad described the Sky Vu’s benefits in copy that wasn’t repeated in the weekly ads that followed. ![]() The first newspaper reference I could find was an ad in the Elizabethville Echo of July 13, 1950. If you do not want the concession stand to operate, and want your guests to bring in outside food, we are ok with this, however there may be an additional fee for this. Cars 61″ or taller must park at an Orange post with the post center of your car. Cars 60″ or less must park at a white post with the post center of your car. We suggest having guests park the same way we do at the theater. Any required staff or labor over our normal operating staff would be at your expense. We can also have concessions staff available if requested upon booking your event. We can provide our “normal” operating staff that we would have provided had we been open to the general public the night of your event. What staff will be included in the rental price? We follow and suggest you do the same the most current advice of the CDC, State, and Local authorities. What social distancing measures are taken? Yes! We can have concessions available, but we need to know this upon booking your event so we can staff it. **We NEED the video or Blu-Ray 14 DAYS IN ADVANCE to convert it to the proper format. You can host a live concert/comedy show. You can make a video to show on the big screen! Format of the video should be MP4.You can select a film and we can see if it is available for rental. We will need to purchase a license for it (usually around $150-$350). You can bring a Blu-Ray of any movie you would like to watch. However, we are not opposed to renting on the weekends (Friday-Sunday). ![]() We usually prefer to keep the rentals on week nights (Monday-Thursday) because the weekend is where the volume of our business is.
